I make it my main focus to buy REAL and WHOLE food when I go grocery shopping. Here are some reasons why I do this:

  • Fuel my body to be well and have energy
  • I am way more likely to eat real food if I am only buying real food
  • Save money. The new healthy processed snack options are great- but can be expensive. I try to limit myself to 1-3 of these all week.

I also eat mostly organic and here is why:

  • No chemicals and toxins
  • Non- GMO
  • Better nutrients, vitamins, and antioxidants

Food you can often find in my house:

  • 4-6 of my favorite veggies to cook (ex: broccoli, asparagus, mushrooms, tomatoes, kale (for kale chips), avocado, potatoes, & bell peppers)
  • I sometimes buy cucumbers, lemon, ginger, & celery to juice
  • Always have garlic, lemons, & onions for cooking
  • 2-4 of my favorite fruits (ex: strawberries, mangos, apples)

  • Avocado oil

  • Raw honey
  • 100% pure maple syrup (for coffee, oatmeal, pancakes, and baking)

I also do eat out a couple times a week. When I am in a hurry or craving eating out, I usually grab something to go from somewhere like Whole Foods, Agra Culture,  or zoodles from Noodles n Company. Then on the weekend I usually eat out 1-2 times a week and treat myself!

Happy grocery shopping!
